Happy Halloween everyone! Well they don´t really celebrate Halloween here but we carved some apples nonetheless. I had intercambios with one of my Sister Training Leaders that day, so when we woke up we went over and carved some faces into some apples to celebrate :) I also bought a coconut on the side of the street this week which was cool. I got to see the guy machete it up, pour the coconut water into a cup, then machete it up some more so that I could take the meat home. I cut that up and ate it throughout the week. Mm. I love coconuts and the island life. This week was great. We had intercambios with our Sister Training Leaders on Friday, so Hermana Frias went to their area and Hermana Ortiz came to ours. We had some great lessons and Hermano Apolinar Cubilete now has a date to be baptized on November 21! His wife, Ana, has the same date, but it´s a date goal right now, and we´d love to see that change into a date. We are praying hard for her. She said she feels yes sometimes and sometimes feels no. Hermano Apolinar would rather get baptized with his wife than alone, so hopefully she gets to that point. We had a really good lesson with our investigator Ana Belkis on Tuesday about the Book of Mormon and she went to church on Sunday! We were so happy. She showed up after Sacrament with her sister, who we found out is less active. That was interesting and we can´t wait to find out more about her story when we meet with her again this week. I swear the rain is out to get us and our lessons with Anthony. He has gone to church three times, yet we´ve only had one lesson with him because every time we schedule something, a storm hits and we have to get home. Ah well. We have an appointment scheduled tonight, so we are praying the sky stays clear. He honestly amazes me. A lot of people need so much push to get to church, yet he has kept going, despite how many times we´ve had to cancel appointments on him because of a storm.
I love this work. I know this gospel is true. The Spirit works in amazing ways and He is here to guide us. I am grateful for His presence, His warnings, His comfort. I love you all, Hermana Shaw
